Privacy and cookies

This website introduces our restaurant: menu, opening hours, photos and contacts. It has no forms, uses no profiling cookies and does not track your browsing. Below we explain, in plain words, the little data that is processed and why.

1. Who is responsible for your data

Amalfi S.r.l., which runs Il Paradosso restaurant (Via Vittorio Veneto 11, Livorno)
Registered office: Via Monte Grappa 5, 57123 Livorno (LI), Italy

2. What data we process

Browsing data

When you visit the site, our hosting provider's servers automatically record some technical data: IP address, browser type, date and time of the visit and the page requested. It is used only to run the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use it to identify you or for marketing. Legal basis: legitimate interest in running and securing the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Data you send us

If you call us or message us on WhatsApp, we use your number, your name and your message only to reply and to handle your booking or request. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). WhatsApp is a service of WhatsApp Ireland Limited, which processes data under its own privacy policy.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

This site sets no cookies, neither ours nor third-party ones. We use no analytics, advertising or profiling tools.

We only use your browser's local storage (localStorage) to remember the language you chose, Italian or English, under the key ip-lang. This is a technical tool needed for the service you asked for, so it requires no consent or banner (Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code and the Italian Data Protection Authority's guidelines of 10 June 2021). It stays on your device, is never sent to us, and you can delete it at any time in your browser settings.

The fonts are hosted on our own site, so no data is sent to Google or anyone else to display them. The "Open in Google Maps" and WhatsApp links lead to external services, whose own privacy policies apply only once you open them.

4. Who we share data with

Browsing data is processed by the website's hosting provider, acting as a data processor. If the provider is based or stores data outside the European Union, the transfer is covered by the safeguards the GDPR requires (adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses, Arts. 45 and 46). We never sell or hand over your data to anyone.

5. How long we keep it

Browsing data is kept by the hosting provider for the technically necessary period, usually a few days or weeks. Messages and phone numbers are kept only as long as needed to handle your request or booking.

6. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to access, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to its processing, or receive it in a portable format (Arts. 15–22 GDPR). Contact us using the details above. If you believe your data is being processed unlawfully, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali): www.garanteprivacy.it.
